A Much Needed Break With the Help of Kolbe

On Friday, November 5th from 7pm to 8pm, Laura Kolbe will be reading from her debut poetry collection, Little Pharma, at New Dominion Bookshop. It is a poetic journey through what most college students are now experiencing: Renewed human contact, belonging to an institution, and the anxiety-inducing waves of ongoing college life. Honestly, with the end of the semester coming in full force, having literature that can express my emotions for me is exactly what I need. It’s a huge outlet to be amongst a group of people who were drawn to similar work for similar reasons. It gives me the same feeling as when you give your friend “the look” and they automatically know what you mean. All in all, this event would be the perfect way for anyone to take a break from the stresses of life, may it be nagging parents, professors, or just the never-ending piles of homework. Take out the time to enjoy the reading of someone who understands. You could go with some friends and even grab some dinner afterwards. At least that’s what I plan on doing. To be or not to be there is up to you, but keep in mind it’s free!

If you want to attend, the event will be held at New Dominion Bookshop in Charlottesville, Va.
