Connecting Creatively on Campus

Do you value diverse settings? Are you looking for fun and creative ways to connect? Longwood’s Black Student Association welcomes everyone. They strive to promote diversity and community. Recently on their Instagram page, longwood_bsa, they shared a Black History Month playlist highlighting the Black American experience. BSA kicked off the Spring semester with an “Aux Wars.” Students were able to play their favorite songs and connect in a creative way. At the end of the fall semester, BSA teamed up with The Wood, Longwood’s creative community of networkers and collaborators, and hosted an open mic night. That night brought together many creative writing students, musicians, spoken word poets and more. Students expressed themselves through poems and lyrics.

BSA finds new and creative ways to connect and educate each semester. All students are welcomed, and they meet biweekly to discuss important issues on campus and at large. Not a member? No worries, anyone can participate in their events. By giving students the opportunity to share their creative expression, BSA is promoting diversity on campus and being an example of the acceptance and connection that A Common Place strives to uphold.
