Amy Nardini | Editor-in-Chief

Amy Nardini is an undergraduate at Longwood University pursuing a degree in Integrated Environmental Science with a minor in Creative Writing. When she isn’t studying, she can be found drinking coffee, taking care of her many plants, or playing cozy videogames! This will be her third year with A Common Place, and she’s looking forward to the positive impact the journal will have on Longwood’s literary community!

Emily Huffman | Editorial Assistant

Emily Huffman is an undergraduate student at Longwood University majoring in mathematics with minors in applied statistics and French. She enjoys reading, playing video games with her friends, and playing Dungeons & Dragons. She is super excited to help with A Common Place!

Jay Geeslin | Editorial Assistant

Jay Geeslin is a third-year Biology major with minors in Chemistry and Creative Writing. Jay has always had a passion for creative writing, and is incredibly excited to be able to serve as ACP’s Editorial Assistant to help provide other students with an opportunity to express themselves through their creative works.

Libby Welch | Art Editor

Libby Welch is an undergraduate at Longwood University studying Graphic and Animation design with a minor in Creative Writing. She loves coffee, bugs, all kinds of art, and cats. She can’t wait to see all the art for A Common Place!

Jensen Auman | Poetry Editor

Jensen Auman is a 3rd year English Literature student, minoring in Environmental Science. Jensen is a member of Longwood University’s Cross Country and Track team, and Assistant Features Editor on The Rotunda, Longwood’s student newspaper.

Jensen Tomalesky | Prose Editor

Jensen Tomalesky is a senior creative and professional writing major who’s been with A Common Place since her freshman year. She enjoys writing and reading fiction with a particular affinity for fantasy novels. This semester she is looking forward to the release of volume five of ACP!

Addy Carney | Art Reader

Addy Carney is an undergraduate student at Longwood University. She is double majoring in psychology and sociology with a concentration in family sciences and minoring in neuroscience. Addy loves reading psychological thrillers, baking gluten-free treats, and spending time with her friends and family. This is her first year with A Common Place and she is excited to see the inner workings of the literary magazine!

Tori Labott | Poetry Reader

Victoria (Tori) Labott is an undergraduate at Longwood University, majoring in Elementary Education with a minor in Creative Writing. She loves writing, watching anime, and listening to all types of music. Victoria has always known she wants to be a teacher, but writing and creating stories has always been her second passion. She’s excited and can’t wait to see other people’s talent and art be appreciated in A Common Place.  

Keiana Harris | Prose Reader

She is Keiana Harris! She’s an English Major with a Concentration in Creative Writing. She loves reading her Bible and writing experimental fiction. She’ll become a writer-editor for a literary magazine.

Maria D’Alema | Prose Reader

Maria is an undergraduate at Longwood University majoring in English with a concentration in Creative Writing and a minor in Criminology and Criminal Justice. She can be found with her nose stuck in a book and quoting a Disney movie or two. Editing and writing are her passions and she can’t wait to help others on their writing journey starting with A Common Place!

Shayla Bradshaw | Prose Reader

Shayla Bradshaw is an undergraduate at Longwood University, seeking to major in Sociology with a minor in English. She enjoys spending her time reading thrillers, playing cozy videos games, and making and listening to music. She has always appreciated finding a new story since she was 5 years old. With joining A Common Place, she’s excited to be a part of something inspiring and finding those new stories.

Hazel Hornsby | Poetry Reader

Hazel Hornsby is a freshman English student at Longwood University with a concentration in creative writing. She can typically be found bundled in her dorm room reading fantasy books or working on her manuscript. She looks forward to working with A Common Place and seeing people’s lovely submissions and artwork!

Cole Kukk | Poetry Reader

Cole Kukk is an undergraduate at Longwood University, majoring in Creative Writing. He is a graduate of the 2023 and 2024 Alpha Young Writers Workshop and the recipient of the Longwood Young Writers award for fiction (2023). He likes words.
